John Gaby's UltraCorps Battle Comp v1.8

UC Battle Comp v1.8 ~ 98KB

(Last Updated: Feb 2006)

The simulator now reads the text file 'units.csv' for the unit information. It is a comma separated value text file which can be opened with a spreadsheet like excel. Just be sure that when you save it, you save it as a text file. I have not updated all the units though.

Just for the hell of it, I also updated the html file parser so that it would read the new fleet files. Attached is a new version. To import the fleet at a world, go to the fleets page for that world, and right click to view the source (this is for Internet Explorer). Then save the source in the directory which contains your comp.exe file. You can name the file anything, but it should have a '.htm' extension. You might want to name the file the same as the world name, but this is not necessary. You can click on multiple worlds, and save their data a separate '.htm' files as well.

If you would like the positions of the worlds to be read, you will also need to save the map. To do this, zoom out on the map until you can see all the worlds in question. Then right click on the map frame and view source. Save this as 'map.htm' in the folder which contains your comp.exe file.

When this is complete, you can use the import function to import the fleets from the saved world. A file will be created for each world named 'world.dfn'. These files will be listed in the 'Defending Fleets' list box, and you can click on one or more of them (CTRL-Click to multiple select), and the fleets will be set up automatically in the Defend column.

If you would like to see a graphical representation, you can copy all the .dfn and .atk files to a sub-folder named 'cycle1' under the folder containing your comp.exe file. Once you have done this you can use the 'View' function to view the worlds. Subsequent cycles should be placed in sub-folders named cycle2, cycle3, and so on.

In the view mode, the following keys are active:

'+' - Moves the view to the next cycle (if any)
'-' - Move the view to the previous cycle (if any)
'n' - Toggles the name of the worlds
'f' - Toggles the firepower
'i' - Toggles the info
'x' - Toggles the neutrals
'r' - Toggles the distance
'u' - Toggles the fleet information
'c' - Toggles a white background
't' - Toggles the transparency of text

In addition, if you click and drag with the mouse, you can change the position of the view. SHIFT-Left-Click will zoom in, and SHIFT-Right-Click will zoom out.

I have included in the zip file an example of a game taken to cycle 3.
